New and need a little direction please (Opening Map Editor)

#1 Post by NitroUK » 08 Jun 2013 22:37

Hi all,

After seeing the America map on YouTube it's inspired me to do something to the whole original ets2 map that I have seen some in the America map....Cat's eyes... on all non lit roads....

so my question.. where do I start? is there a map editor program?

Being disabled and housebound I have a lot time to dedicate to this project I just need a pointer in the right direction..

I'm hoping to have white cats eye's on the centre of the roads and red & green on the exit / entry roads from dual carriage ways and motorways..

Thank you for any replies...

Best wishes Glenn

Well, I can at least answer that question. Yes, and you already have it! (it's built into the ETS2 program).

If you open the config.cfg file in Notepad and change the entries for these two parameters from 0 to 1, then you will enable the "developer mode" of the program:

Code: Select all

uset g_developer "1"
uset g_console "1"
With ETS2 running, when you press the accent grave character (`) the key just to the left of the 1 key on the upper keyboard row, you will open the console.

Now type edit and press the Enter key. You are now in the map editor. There are many posts here that will help you get beyond this point, so best start reading up!

Yes there is ... Go to this website and follow the instructions... :P http://www.promods.net/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=1326

see a youtube demo cause it is not so easy stuff to do.. and you need some things- namely WinRAR, SCS extractor and Notepad++..

To popularize : you may want to upload it on sharemods and zippyshare and then other famous Ets2 mod websites
Do announce it on the forum and tell the makers about it.

but first play it yourself and fix as many bugs as possible. :D

Enjoy modding!
