Here this is from Punisher on FB it may be the way to go
2 friends of mine figured it out, they're releasing a version of my R2 tomorrow with it and since it's on 50k's truck it should work on the original 50k truck if you take the files

Thanks a lot guys!

Thanks to Vlasta's tip I've found the problem. I've compared the old and new interior and exterior sound def files and the new ones have the following line added:

Code: Select all

@include "/def/vehicle/truck/common_sound_int.sui"
which seems to be a new file and that file indeed has the lift axle sound information in it!

There might be more of a difference, but I'll just replace the old files with the new ones like Vlasta told me, so i hope that fixes it :D

@Granny, saw your post on FB, although after you had mentioned it here haha. Thanks for keeping me up to date :)

No problem bro, let me know if you get it working as I will have to mess with it when they release the full retail version since I don't have steam

Well, bad news :( Replacing the interior and exterior files doesn't seem to work, though I think I might have done something wrong. After replacing the files I went to test it and lost the sound of the truck completely, which seemed to cause the game to crash when I tried to start the truck, the same way as it did with the lift axle.
After a bit of fiddling I now have the truck sound working with the new interior/exterior files, but the game still crashes when trying to use the lift axle..

I guess i'll just wait for Punishers mod to release and see what he has had to change.

there are two parts to be included definitions and data. be sure you have both there.
Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.

Writing ... sound_data.sui is located at the top and bottom part of the definition

@Max: Which data do you mean? Do you mean I have to add the sounds from the lift axle to the mod too? I would assume this would be automatically loaded since the definition files are "coded" with the right directory paths?

@Punishers truck: I'm not sure if it's the one Granny/Punisher were talking about, but on one of the mod sites an update to Punishers truck has been uploaded, which claims to have the lift axle. Unfortunately that one does not seem to work, since a couple of people already commented that the game crashed when the engine was started, just like mine did and I can confirm that happens by now. The lift axle isn't working either, it makes the game crash too.

Hmm, really weird stuff then.. Is that MAN based on the original SCS MAN or has it been made from scratch?
