eventually, that text can be disabled by typing "g_minicon 0" to console.
Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.

therefore i wrote "typing to console".

so open console, type "g_minicon 0", close console, see version number, open console, type "g_minicon 1", close console, profit .. ;)

it is enough to press ~ (tilde) to bring the console down (obviously you have developer mode enabled) and the game version is presented on the bottom line of the console, on the right side

And even when the game is not active, you can always derive the game version from the log:

Search in game.log.txt for "init" to find a line similar to this:

Code: Select all

00:00:00.784 : Euro Truck Simulator 2 init ver.1.10.1.12s (rev. bdd71307208b6e7c676fa54673ae1cd10f0de9e9)

You can also find the game version in the 'version' .txt document in the base SCS file.

You could also look at the filename of the installation file when you install the game... But then again, paying attention to what you're doing seems to be such a rare thing these days. Just yesterday I went to delete a file I thought was highlighted but wasn't, and deleted the whole dadblasted folder...

Note to self: Pay attention, Moron! [ external image ]
