Guide: How to skin GTM Scania T730

#1 Post by Wolfi » 01 Feb 2014 10:19

Hey guys. As quite a few people are asking me lately for it I decided to post a guide on how to create a custom skin for my Scania T730.
This guide is written for those who are using ETS2 Studio as I assume those who are not using it know how to add a skin for a custom truck ;)

To make the skin using ETS2 Studio in the program you have to choose the R2009 (ingame original).
Create the skin in the normal way using templates included with my mod.
Extract the skin using ETS2 Studio.

At this point the skin you created will be displayed on ingame Scania R2009.
Now to switch it to my T series:

Open the archive with your skin mod (using winrar or similar archive editor).
Go to: def/vehicle/truck folder -> inside you'll find "scania.r" folder - rename it to "scania.t"
After renaming open the folder and go to "paint_job" folder.
Here you will find a .sii file with the name of your skin.
Open it with text editor (notepad).
You should see the following:
""
SiiNunit
{
accessory_paint_job_data : skinname.scania.r.paint_job
{
""
Again replace "scania.r" with "scania.t" (only in that line shown above) and save the file.
A dialog box should appear asking you to confirm update in the archive. Click yes.
And that's all.
Everything should be working now.
The smallest details always make the biggest difference.
