There is a huuuugeeee market out there and the offer is limited to FSX/P3D (both using the same obsolete engine) and X-Plane which never was a great option either.
They have a pretty decent engine already so I think a big part of the job is already done.
Anyway, I would love to see that happening.

I don't really think so, because it takes a very, very long time to get a *good* Flight Sim game out. And SCS' talent lies with the trucking sim franchises.

The fact that really only Lockheed Martin's Prepar3D and then X-Plane only exist at this point... its a very, very niche market. (then again, simulation in general is) I would like to see other alternatives, but when one thinks about, its only X-Plane that exists. Lockheed's terms of use state that their program is not meant for the general consumer market. It doesn't stop anyone to buy it, but their terms do specifically state its for education and business use. So you're basically left with only one option that is even updated at this point: X-Plane.
