Re: smoke from exhaust pipes
Black smoke coming from a NEW truck is a sign that something is wrong with it. (IRL, of course...) But there are plenty of older trucks belching out black smoke all over the country, and that's just the way they are. Because back in the days they were made, there were not as many anti-pollution laws as there are now.

Re: smoke from exhaust pipes
Most people want this simulation so real as it can be as in real life, but ad a thing that gives black smoke out of the exaust.
And that is a thing what I don't understand.

Re: smoke from exhaust pipes
The only think it is realistic.
Re: smoke from exhaust pipes
Don`t add it on trucks, but allow it in the game code
Same should apply with multiple pivot points

Re: smoke from exhaust pipes
If you were PACCAR would you want to encourage having one truck do the work of two? Counter productive for truck sales. If you want doubles go talk to the trailer makers.

Re: smoke from exhaust pipes
I agree. Maybe modders can include black smoke in their old trucks, or create mod that cause trucks produce black smoke when certain damage level of engine is reached.DanRO wrote:Don`t add it on trucks, but allow it in the game code

Sorry for off topic, but what would truck manufacturers think when they see these mods?

@ marcel-dutch
This is unrealistic these days. With adblue and egr engines their is minimal emissions so there is no smoke except if you've blown a turbo or something.

Of course, then I have to scroll all the way back up to the top of the page to figure out which quote he was quoting in the first place.ohaha wrote:Quote removed. Don't quote entire messages. Use direct addressing.

It already is.DanRO wrote:Don`t add it on trucks, but allow it in the game code
Exhaust smoke is an accessory just like any other. It is, however, an animation - I think - and will chew into FPS numbers but the big thing about this accessory mod is that because it's an accessory it is present even when the engine is shut down, meaning the black smoke is not only pouring out of the pipes constantly but is not linked to the engine revs and so never changes either.
If you suck at playing the trumpet, that's probably why.

IF they do smoke like that it is due to poor maintenance of the engine.
Black smoke from a truck is an indication that something is wrong with it...
https://www.bellperformance.com/blog/bi ... -explained
Black Smoke - this is the most common one and is really just an imbalance in the air to fuel ratio - too much fuel to not enough air. This means either too much fuel is being added to the mix or there's not enough oxygen being supplied to burn the fuel. The black smoke is full of particulates that are basically large diesel particles that normally would be burned as fuel. Any way you look at it, a diesel truck emitting black smoke is not going to be getting the optimal fuel mileage it should be getting.
Most common causes of black smoke are faulty injectors, a faulty injector pump, a bad air filter (causing not enough oxygen to be supplied), a bad EGR valve (causing the valves to clog) or even a bad turbocharger. Some of these are easy fixes.
And the above is also why you will never see permission given...it means something is wrong with their truck and they want them shown in pristine condition.
Not to be a dick but black smoke is NOT a poor maintenance of the engine 90% of the time it is someone who has turned the fuel up on the motor by one of 2 way. The correct way is to change injectors and to increase fuel pressure to increase HP the cheapest way over changing more expensive components. The other way is a really dangerous way to do it but some people do and that is to crimp down the return fuel line to force more fuel into the engine it is really dangerous because you can end up with what they call a run away engine where you can no longer control the engine. That is the most common way to get black smoke you can also get it when you turn you truck up so much by adding the correct upgrade to end up like one of the more famous trucks known in the truck community to get 1000+ hp.
