Re: Public Beta 1.6 discussion
No, friction is different from inertia.
Inertia resists against linear or rotational acceleration of a mass, for example when you push a heavy bowl. Inertia does not slow something down as such, it tries to prevent a mass from changing its velocity.
Friction is the resistance of surfaces moving along each other with contact, e.g. an axle in its bearing or a piston in its cylinder. Friction tries to slow down a physical body moving along another.
There is another major resisting force in a piston engine, cylinder compression. At school we had a cutaway passenger car engine that was very hard to turn manually by the crank lever that was fitted on the crankshaft. In diesel engines, compression is even much higher than in gasoline engines.
SCS have probably combined friction and compression and what not into one single resistance value and call it friction (but not inertia, which must be treated separately).

Is it anything noticeable though?

Re: Public Beta 1.6 discussion
Now, if all the trucks have an weight station device on the windshield, the old warning bar with red/green lights from the Route Advisor isn't redundant?
I have approximate knowledge of many things
Re: Public Beta 1.6 discussion
that should be a option to remove the old weight station warning bar in the next update
Re: Public Beta 1.6 discussion
there are people that are driving from outside.
Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.

Re: Public Beta 1.6 discussion
Has the Weigh Pass been fixed so you can see it from the outside view?
Re: Public Beta 1.6 discussion
The weigh station bar on top of the route advisor isn't even really redundant in-cab. It is still a helpful indication of the status, as the tiny LED on the pass box is not nearly as obvious/visible (and you might be playing with volume down and miss the beeps).
Yes, it should be optional, but it absolutely should remain in the game and remain enabled by default (new users may well not know the beep codes or know what the pass box is).
It was a good thing to add a realistic pass box, but is does not make the previous display redundant.

As far as I can tell, there are no trailer axle indicator on any ETS 2 truck either.

maybe put a option for ouside views only or all in gameplay tabMurph wrote:The weigh station bar on top of the route advisor isn't even really redundant in-cab.
