65 mph tops with trailer
65 mph tops with trailer
Is it just a setting somewhere in the game or am I missing something. When I'm hauling a trailer my truck is governed at 65 and will not go any faster unless rolling down a hill or something. However, when there is no trailer on my truck, I can go as fast as I want pretty much. I'm just curious if this is something that is supposed to happen or if there is a setting that I'm missing. You would think if a truck is going to be governed it would do that regardless if there is a trailer attached or not.

If you take a job from the World of Trucks database your speed is limited to 65.

Unfortunately World of Trucks contracts are limited to 65mph in ATS. Regular jobs from the job market have no speed limit.
I actually made a topic to increase that World of Trucks speed limit since it's just annoying. viewtopic.php?f=185&t=225251

Thanks for the responses. I figured this may be what it is, and yes it is annoying, but guess there is nothing that can be done about it other then creating a topic about it like already done to let them know it is annoying. Thanks again!

I don't geddit why it would be annoying. Your truck should drive more economical at 55mph anyway. and driving faster than 65mph is pretty much asking for accidents.

@Tiger313 Maybe on Euro trucks, it really depends on gearing, actually, and since US trucks aren't typically speed restricted, the gearing is set up for US highway speeds. There's also the debate about how trucks that move at slower speeds than other traffic can cause more accidents, but I'm not going to get on that topic.
Re: 65 mph tops with trailer
It is annoying because you can and you are allowed to drive 70,75 or even 80mph on some interstates. American trucks are built for those speeds. Trucks passing you in a car at 75mph on an interstate are not uncommon. But the game/ WoT contracts are limiting your speed to 65mph for no good reason. I don't care about my mpg in the game.Tiger313 wrote:I don't geddit why it would be annoying. Not in the states that are in game, your argument is invalid.
