In 2011, they posted this:

I guess they never regretted the release of a posting more than this one. :D It was apparently an error to show this, but who's free from errors?

I imagine that their intentions of double trailers was there when they released this picture.
Later they found out that things was not that easy as expected and had to put it on hold.

So doubles have been on hold for five years and rigids have been on hold for two years.

I think we should all accept that SCS are not going to bring us these types of trailers ever.

Just like they were "never" going to implement liftable axles, or "never" going to do customisable GPS...

Please, enough of the inane baseless accusations about what SCS are "not planning". They've shown they have both a development plan and a sincere customer response, for literally decades now.

Just because they haven't released any further info about it, doesn't mean they're not doing some sort of planning or something behind the doors.

That's just how companies work. Prioritize what can be done, while working on something else to see if it can be done in the current engine.

The "rigids" that was teased at was a design concept. In no way, shape, or form were they actively working on it at the time. Same with the doubles (btw, I was well aware of that post). Maybe at some point in the future, when SCS Software has something ready to show us, they will. But at the same time, I understand them not releasing any info regarding the matter because they simply don't have anything to show us right now.

we have doubles in the USA, all states allow a double made up of 26FT box trailers.

western states allow 26FT flat beds and tanker doubles as well as the box ones.

even fewer states allow the use of one 53FT trailer pulling a 26FT trailer, three 26FT box trailers, and two 53FT long trailers

some eastern states allow the above combinations in box trailer only on toll highways only (Ohio, New York, Florida, Indiana)

the state of Michigan will allow up to 11 axles on a tractor-trailer with an incress in weight limit in the state

some states do allow B-doubles, most B-doubles come down from Canada as the B setup is not widely used in the USA, but is very popular in Canada (53FT trailer with 5th wheel on the back, second trailer 26FT hooked right on to the rear of the first, no dolly used)

We don't have 53' super b's (that would be the worst thing ever)...they are 2 45's with a tri in the middle. (Trailer 1 has a 5th wheel at the end)

We do have turnpikes (2 53's with a dolly though, and A triples (3 20's with dollies)

And haulin had proper Super B support.

ok, yeah i thought the B-double trailers looked a bit short. i guess they are 45FT

but we still have two 53FT with a tandem axle dolly in the middle. they are named Turnpike Doubles because they are mostly used on Turnpikes. however some states allow Turnpike Doubles on non-turnpike highways/roads

May I ask a question? What is the advantage of having a double trailer (both 20ft for ex.) as opposed to pulling a single 53ft trailer? Cant the 53ft trailer fit all the cargo that is in the two 20ft doubles?
If it is stupid but it works, it isn't stupid.
