Mod to eliminate intra-city jobs?

#1 Post by WarthogCC » 29 Mar 2017 07:02

Does anyone know of a mod to eliminate intra-city jobs? Meaning jobs where the Origin and Destination are the same city.

I would like the game to give me short jobs by lowering the Preferred Job Length down. But when I do that I get a bunch of jobs within the same city. I have tried adjusting the Preferred Job Length up and down (one notch at a time), but it seems it either gives me only intra-city jobs when I lower it to a certain point, and jumps to medium-length jobs if I only bump it up a little. It absolutely refuses to give me jobs to neighboring towns.

My idea is to have a mod that eliminates intra-city jobs so that when you do move the Preferred Job Length slider all the way down it should give you short jobs outside of town.

Any ideas?

I don't believe such as mod is even possible at this time.

The game will always spawn a few same city jobs, this is intentional behaviour. Do you use Online Jobs? I find you tend to get a lot more options with Online Jobs, you still of course get same city jobs (more than freight market) but there's generally 2-3 times as many jobs to pick from so you are far more likely to get neighbouring cities.

This issue could be solved if SCS made it possible to pick a destination city and spawn jobs to that location. While it's not the most realistic option, I know a lot of people would love to pick specific destinations rather than just get offers from the city they click on.

That way, I would not have used 3 IRL days to find cargo to a quarry in Elko, Nevada.. :lol:

you can make such mod - kind of.
each cargo (cargo_data unit) has minimum_distance and maximum_distance attributes. if you set, say, 50 or 100km to all it could help.
Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.

:o

Well that is an interesting thing to know. If I set it up right I could keep some of my custom cargo UK only. :D

@SlavikSD
/def/cargo/cargoname/cargo.sii
it's trailer_def type attribute.

Maybe Max can explain cargo_mass_ratio attribute?

Code: Select all

cargo_data: cargo.gifts
{
	name: "@@cn_gifts@@"
	fragility: 0.3
	price_coef: 2.5
	minimum_distance: 100
	group[]: containers
