Does this happen to anyone else? [Unwanted reloads of game]

#1 Post by Drive Safely » 13 Apr 2017 10:22

Sometimes (not all the time) when I click "Drive" after going to the Main Menu or if I go into Photo Mode, the loading screen appears.
This is quite annoying because it actually reloads everything, meaning the AI traffic resets and sometimes the weather resets as if you've quit the game and loaded back in, which is bad when I want to take a cool screenshot but then the AI traffic has gone missing from the shot. :(

I never had this problem in the previous game versions.

Tip: Forget photo mode and use warp 0 to "pause" everything and use dev cam to take the picture. :D

@Moh1336 - Nice tip. Thanks! Still wish it could be done with Photo Mode though so I can adjust the field of view and blur.

Yes it happens to me sometimes, especially in France or cities. If you use g_hq_3d_screenshot command, make sure it's disabled before going into photo mode, it can help, but not all the time unfortunately.
It is a 1.27 bug tho, never noticed it before. Probably something to do with the optimization newly introduced.

Yup, it's quite annoying. My guess it's something they've overlooked and if we're lucky it will be fixed in the next patch :?

They actually got rid of that annoying "load everytime something changes" routine a couple of versions ago.
Now it's back.

I'm also quite annoyed by the fact that g_set_time doesn't reset traffic anymore. It sure was handy in some situations!

Use g_set_time without any other input and it'll reveal it's command syntax. Then you will see that if you enter 0 or 1 after the hour and minutes inputs, the game will keep or remove the traffic.

The dev camera uses the numpad for navigation by default.

For users that don't have a numpad (ex: compact TKL keyboards), is there a way to remap dev cam navigation? I briefly peeked at the config.sii file, but nothing obvious jumped out at me.
