Rumble Stripes sound not produced by Michelin tyres [FIXED]
Rumble Stripes sound not produced by Michelin tyres [FIXED]
Version 1.27.2.3s
Michelin tyres don't rumble when hitting the rumble strips on the side of the road. Tested the same stretch of road with other tyres and they all work OK.

Re: Rumble Stripes sound not produced by Michelin tyres
It works perfectly by me too.
Re: Rumble Stripes sound not produced by Michelin tyres
Have you tested them against the default tyres (Runner, Element & Trailmaster)? These play the very distinct rumble stripe sound but the Michelin's sound more like their driving on a bit of rough road.
Edit: Does tyre dB rating effect volume of tyre noise? The Michelin has a low dB level so maybe this is effecting it? I just know there is a clear difference.

Re: Rumble Stripes sound not produced by Michelin tyres
sure it does.
if you have tire of A noise class, they will be much more quiet than tire of D noise class.

Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.
Re: Rumble Stripes sound not produced by Michelin tyres
Should rumble strips be quieter in relation to tyre class?
Never argue with idiots. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Re: Rumble Stripes sound not produced by Michelin tyres
and THAT is the right question ..

Re: Rumble Stripes sound not produced by Michelin tyres
I honestly don't think a tire's noise class would have much (noticeable) effect on rumble stripes' volume. The noise is generated by the tire riding up and down on the ridges in the pavement which have a fixed amplitude. I'd equate it to whacking the tire with a hammer repeatedly – no matter how it's dressed, you've got a 120psi resonant doughnut of air inside. If they didn't work on all tires, they wouldn't be very effective. Hell, with just passenger car tires those things are enough to rattle your fillings loose.
Re: Rumble Stripes sound not produced by Michelin tyres
So the bug would be... tyre dB rating effects the rumble strip volume level (better rating, quieter rumble) and this would not be the case by design.
Edit: Tested this further and found the Michelin tyres with 67dB and 69dB ratings barely produce an audible rumble. So the rating is effecting the rumble sound.

Re: Rumble Stripes sound not produced by Michelin tyres
Which is absolutely contrary to the reason for HAVING the rumble strips in the first place.
If you suck at playing the trumpet, that's probably why.
