[ARCHIVED] SCS General Discussion Thread
Re: SCS Blog discussion
Yeah, it's pretty uncool of Scania to put SCS on the spot like that. Hopefully it doesn't hurt the result, or their relationship.
I'm interested to see how 3d scanning turns out for them though. My limited experience with it has been pretty lackluster. Personally, I'm a big fan of a measuring tape and a full memory card.

But Scania aren't the ones making it, so they don't have a clue. They're guessing.Solo_Kamen wrote:SCS doesn´t dare to say the truck will be ready in summer but Scania does That´s why posted link to their article.
In all likelihood SCS guys said "hopefully by..." and someone at Scania misunderstood.

Yes, I know. It will get delayed anyway.... as always in game/software development.

Re: SCS Blog discussion
didn't SCS say that the Trucks are already finished (ok not the MAN but the Renault) so it coms all down to Renault if the Truck is ready for the game or notLeen wrote:Agree with BKp666, that new awful Scania can wait besides before the new Scania let them show up with the New MAN Euro6 or Renault Range T, but first rework the older trucks.

Re: SCS Blog discussion
I really don't understand why licensing still is such a big deal.
Given the fact that there is such a large amount of players, such a big community bringing out new mods every day, and the game keeps getting more and more recognition so it is able to win Steam awards, manufacturers should start wanting ti be in the game from themselves.
In my opinion, the Schwarzmüller DLC and the Michelin fan pack were just right to get other brands attention. I can only hope that this is a little snowball effect and brands like Krone, Schmitz and others could finally be implemented officially, not only in the def files.
I think we should honor the straight and even progress on the game overall and appreciate the fact SCS is still trying to improve it more and more. Even when there are Steam key giveaways (even if they don't work for me) I do not hesitate on buying DLCs frequently just to show my support and to help SCS paying their bills.
Great work so far SCS - can't wait to see where it's going!

X2
Also, if we really want new trucks in-game, we need to put a lot of pressure on the manufacturers for them to accept, we need to organize something for that to happens

Re: SCS Blog discussion
New content makes sell, the owner of the rights wants to get a part of that. This is business.
Maybe Renault wants too much money from SCS, or the truck is not ready yet, or anything else, or we don't know anything about licensing.
This word is only an excuse in SCS community universe

Re: SCS Blog discussion
In my opinion I don't believe that the reason we don't have the Renault T or the new Man E6 is to do with licensing because the brands are already officially in the game so as far as I can tell it has to be a delay on SCS's side.
Too many paint jobs to create for the new trucks perhaps?

Re: SCS Blog discussion
My guess is that some of the manufacturers wants the 3D-model of their product to be more detailed than SCS wants and that would be the reason for the delay of the licence
