Re: SCS Blog discussion
I thought the V8s were the same as used in the Streamline. While it might be quieter from in cab, surely they are the same right?

V8 sound without any chasis / cab around it is same...
But what it vibrates through different chasis might have differences from isolation to recording...
Beside I'm pretty sure SCS improved themselves on what to record, what to take notice so far and I'm expecting trailer squeak sound recording this time too

Re: SCS Blog discussion
more sounds is always better than less sounds, so it's good news
Re: SCS Blog discussion
iirc, they recorded the current V8 sound using a 4 series with closed exhaust valve. In other words, not the right one. The 'right' euro 6 one sounds much better.

Re: SCS Blog discussion
Aye don't get me wrong, improved sound is a good thing. It just seems like it would have been easier to do by lowing the internal volume to suit it.
But if they used a Series 4 for the originals, then redoing the audio on new E6 engines makes a lot more sense.

Re: SCS Blog discussion
More real sounds, more realism
I hope Scania will force SCS to use a new air brake sound

Re: SCS Blog discussion
For interior engine sound it's easiest to use an empty (no sound) ogg-file
