Remember the old addage.. If it aint broke, don't fix it... but if it is the DAF model then hell yeah fix it!!! (and you lot thought i'd forgotten my campaign)
Perhaps saying "buggy" was a bad choice of words. It's not that PHPBB is broken. It's not. But you mentioned the DAF model, let's compare PHPBB and IPB like that. The DAF will haul a load and get it where you want it to go, but there are much better models available. This forum software is adequate, but that is all it is. Adequate. As far as forum software goes, IPB is one of those better models. And you would expect it to be better because it isn't free.

However, if kept updated PHPBB is not that old. The latest non-beta release was September 28th, 2013. Since the version isn't displayed on the copyright line like IPB, I don't know what version this copy of PHPBB is. But I do know it's PHPBB3.

^ Bad idea! It promotes negativity and also attention seekers, very very bad idea!

Not to mention more work for the forum moderators (trust me, i've been a Moderator of a forum that had a rating system it causes more problems than its worth)

Look, lets not forget what this is...

Its a forum where the fan base can communicate at a basic level with other like minded fans and sometimes even the Devs (or at least some of the people working under the SCS umbrella) and also from SCS's pointy of view a good place to bug hunt.

Forums are successful because of their simplicity, if you want likes and such then log in to Facebook that's what its for..

Whatever next? Euroacres farm ville? Scania Crush Saga?

* wants to click on the like button * ,, oh wait there is none:P.

adding such buttons won't any good to the board in my eyes. just stick to the standard things + some extra (like youtube vids) thats enough for me :)

Ahhh that option!! i've misunderstood your suggestion:).
I thought that you wanted a notification when someone posted in the same topic as you did. but you want to subscribe to a topic (as example when you didn't post in it yet)

thats a thing I would like to see aswell.

Let me explain it a bit different
In all topics somewere in the centre bottom for example there should be two options to check/uncheck the following
Subscribe to topic
and receive e-mail notifications

Does that sound clearer to you?
