Weird Physics, Wheel spinning loss of traction

#1 Post by killmaster » 25 Aug 2014 13:52

Do we have the physics change in the current update 1.12.

I have problem in climbing the Quarry route from the dead end steep climb with a heavier trailer load. No matter how much powerful engine i employ, the tires are spinning as if they are not touching the ground or showing loss of traction.

Also while ascending steep down hill, the truck losses the control and often turns sharply towards corner and gets struck.

Both the above mentioned things happened only after updating to current version from older 1.8.25. in older version there was no such high loss of traction. The truck would struggle to climb more due to smaller engine, but loss of traction was not much evident. After the upgradation of the game, i am getting so much wheel spins.

Yeah, there were a lot of changes. But if you're talking about 1.12, why did you post this in the 1.9 Bugs section?

Yeah, i think because the physics got really strange from 1.9. You are right i should post this in 1.12 section.

Mods please change this thread to 1.12 section.

Well, just so you know, a lot of that weirdness that came up after 1.9 was from outdated mods. So if you have any that are older that 1.9, you might want to look for updated versions. I had a lot of those problems you mentioned, and updating mods cleared up a lot of it.

Specifically for this problem I remember that something was changed regarding the drive axles. This meant that trucks from mods had serious problems getting out of quarries due to lack of power. So if you're getting this in 1.12, you're likely driving a truck from an outdated mod.

I wouldn't say it was lack of power, because i tried it with 750hp engines also, what i experienced was lack of traction.

It's not that either I think. It looked like only one of the two drive axles was powered. So you'd effectively lose half the power. That's what it looked like on vids anyway.

My Truck is 6X4, not 6X2. So the both rear axles were live & wheels were spinning. What i felt was the need of differential locks.
