Euro Truck Simulator 2 on Windows 10
Re: Euro Truck Simulator 2 on Windows 10
Microsoft will earn from corporates and online services like Office subscription etc., company didn't earn much from "home pc upgrade" with Windows too... their customers are "companies", not "home users" really.... You already pay in advance with your new PC/laptop, but will be free if you want to install it yourself, simple...
Re: Euro Truck Simulator 2 on Windows 10
I just went back to Windows 8.1 after a week with Windows 10. I've decided that I need a more powerful computer and GPU to run ETS2 on Windows 10. With 8.1, I can run ProMods and numerous other mods at 200% scaling with most graphic settings at medium and get smooth fps most of the time. With Windows 10, my screen was a nervous wreck (fps) and making one of me as well. Dropping scaling did not help and even running a vanilla game with few mods was not that smooth. All the current windows updates were in place for both as well as driver updates. For the few (if any) improvements that I saw in using 10 vs. 8.1 for the computer operations I do, it was not worth it to me to give up the enjoyment of the game. Just a heads up for players the may not have a kick A$$ computer to play on that want to upgrade to Windows 10.

Re: Euro Truck Simulator 2 on Windows 10
Just for clarification:
Or did you use the same (or at least reasonable similar) versions of GPU drivers for both Windows 8.1 and Windows 10?
And were these rather actual drivers, straight from NVIDIA?
Perhaps the 1024 MB card is an on-board graphics system you don't use for the game? Did you checked the log created on a Win 10 session which GPU is really used for the game, and also which driver is selected? Just to be sure game doesn't run on the wrong GPU - or a Windows standard out-of-the-box GPU driver?
Sorry that I ask, but you didn't mention it, and before I finally upgrade to 10 , I'm grateful for any shared experience.
I'm not sure if that means that you left the decision which GPU driver to be installed to Windows?Ole'Trkr wrote:All the current windows updates were in place for both as well as driver updates.

This doesn't compute, in my head. Personal CTD So wich one is used?Ole'Trkr wrote:Graphics Coprocessor NVIDIA GeForce GT620 2GB

Re: Euro Truck Simulator 2 on Windows 10
Upgrading from 7 > 10 I found that I had to disable windows 10 from getting the latest drivers and install my NVIDIA drivers manually, at the time Windows 10 tried to retrieve old drivers that caused me problems. So I keep that setting off now.
But other than that, I have found Win10 to be far better for my system and gaming. Things seem to run smoother overall and at higher frame rates (nothing massive just 5-10fps depending on the game) than win7 did.

REINHARD: Sorry for the confusion, I used the NVIDIA most up to date driver for the game for both 8.1 and 10, perhaps I missed something somewhere that I was not aware of that should have been changed. I'm no computer guru, but I'm ok with sticking with win 8.1 for now.

My recently-upgraded Win 10 boxes seem happy with the latest NVIDIA drivers.

Did you install the latest drivers?
Make sure with Windows 10 you disable automatic driver updates first.

Re: Euro Truck Simulator 2 on Windows 10
with the Dell Drivers my notebook have BSOD, and with drivers generic of Intel, ETS 2 crash and I don't have BSOD, I would love to install windows 10, but the last time this happened, I do not want to have to go back to windows 8 again
