Realistic Fuel Consumption Tweaked?
Re: Realistic Fuel Consumption Tweaked?
I believe that nadvander is right when he says that map scale has a big impact on consumption. In some areas its more like a stop and go with alot of accelaration and in consequence higher fuel consumption.
But, in general it is definitley harder to get under 32 or 30liter on a trip. And, the range of consumption from one truck(mod) to another is wider because physics seem to play a bigger role.

Re: Realistic Fuel Consumption Tweaked?
I haven't been looking into parameters for numerous sim updates, but as far as I know, they only factor in the displacement and the rpm. Of course, indirectly also the weight, the torque and the rolling resistance. Unless things have changed, you would alter consumption by altering the displacement, not horsepower which seems merely a descriptive parameter. Changing the torque would affect consumption only indirectly.

Re: Realistic Fuel Consumption Tweaked?
Something needs to be done with the high fuel consumption.
Asked Allie Knight on Twitter a few days ago, and she replied saying that she did 7mpg with a 43k load climbing 3 mountain passes, 8.5mpg with 10-15k load, and bobtailing at 9-11mpg.
Just driving the 579 empty down the mostly flat I-5 I can do around 8-8.5mpg currently. With 40k+ loads I usually do 5.5-6mpg. Have not managed to break 7mpg lately with the 10-20k+ loads.
So at one point I lost about 1mpg. My average before was 7.5-8mpg and now I'm down at 6-6.5mpg.

Re: Realistic Fuel Consumption Tweaked?
i read the twitter, so i just tried random job and got 6.8mpg (~34l/100km) with 42k (~20t) cargo (used keyboard + CC, no pedals, no extra effort). sure we can change it, but is it really necessary?
we need more feedback on this. is there more people that think consumption if off that much? how do you drive?

Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.
Re: Realistic Fuel Consumption Tweaked?
It's not a million miles away in my opinion, currently driving an R580 V8 streamiline and averaging up to 8mpg. Not bad for V8
Re: Realistic Fuel Consumption Tweaked?
Max what run did you do? I did a run Stuttgart to Katowice towing Gas Pipeline parts (24t) and I got 40l/100km using keyboard and CC. I feel that the consumption is about 8-10l too high.

The average consumption of an average player using an average(400-500hp engine) should be somewhere between 28 and 32l/100km mark. I have found that currently (patches 1.26 and 1.27 beta) it is around 40l/100km

It is between 28 and 32 (R490 Streamline, 4x2). I urge you to try this thing and post your results as a picture. That can show where did your fuel go.using an average(400-500hp engine) should be somewhere between 28 and 32l/100km mark

Will try that. Run Venezia to Debrecen 932km, towing 9t of Radiators using 339l, the average consumption was 36.373l/100km with a 12.8l 530hp engine.

Re: Realistic Fuel Consumption Tweaked?
Please change your value 31,25 litre per 100 km, when you calculate fuel available distance to new value, or current average truck comsumption, if you change fuel consumption on last updates.Max wrote:we need more feedback on this.

Re: Realistic Fuel Consumption Tweaked?
piva, I believe it's based on eco driving skill level, for players who don't use realistic fuel consumption. Changing it to actual average will help, but then there's zero division, and extremely small numbers will mess the dashboard formatting.
