I heard that. Pardon?

#1 Post by Elmer BeFuddled » 29 May 2017 23:06

After finally updating to game v1.27 I have a feeling that my virtual driver has hay fever.

I swear blind he keeps randomly sneezing. Or is it the air brakes releasing excess pressure?
I'm writing a book on plagiarism. It wasn't my idea.

To be specific, it's the air system releasing excess pressure. Stored air is used for a variety of things (air suspension for chassis, cab and seats, air horns, some clutches etc etc).

Its the purge valve releasing excess pressure after the air pump has turned off when the system has reached normal pressure.

That purge valve must be leaking on my truck because nearly everytime i sleep there is no air.
I lowered the noise after about the 3rd burst, scared the poop out of me 1st time.

The sound they used for it makes me wonder if this and other air pressure sounds would sound different with different trucks, Allie's Peterbilt doesn't often sound like that... if at all.

I know some people are picky about engine sounds, I'm not so picky about that, but I'm picky about air pressure sounds (since they were better back then). Although I would say the old Actros needs a update.... unless it already was updated.

I think the sound is related to the pressure of the air system and the diameter of the valve.

BTW, Allie isn't a truck driver anymore. She's gone the RV YouTube life.

That's right. That and the sound feels out of place in the insulated interior of the truck, which is why I use the more inaudible ATS variant of the sound for the Sound Fixes Pack mod for ETS2.
