Re: Trailer Ownership Feature
New features give the game more fans and this change in the trailers is a spectacle.
Re: Trailer Ownership Feature
Well, We are in 2017 and we have options to choose the trailer. Why not have a trailer that is customized by you? Would be kind of yours, would not it?
For example, imagine that that black trailer of the Schwarzmüller Trailer Pack was customized by you and could in that option of choosing trailers, choose it. Of course, "box" trailer only carries cargo for this type of trailer.

After 5 years, they almost done the Double Trailer, maybe after 5 years we may customize our trailers, maybe..
Re: Trailer Ownership Feature
I think this will require a major game engine mechanic change. Right now - it seems - a cargo is the trailer. There would need to be a change that makes a trailer something that is able to carry a cargo. This would also pave the way for rigids, which I'd also love to see in-game. On top of this, there would need to be one "additional" model for each of the open/flatbed trailer types - one without cargo.
With the change, we'd then have a cargo and weight available in the jobs list - if we have the space (weight limit) in our rigid, or on/in our trailer then we can carry it. This is just the simplest view of it. If we were to go a little more in-depth, we'd have to have restrictions on trailer types, for things like food that would require a refrigerated trailer type etc.
As I'm not SCS, I have no idea how deeply this change would need to be made, but this is one I really want to see, and would, in my opinion, represent the greatest single change that could happen to the Truck Sim games.

Not going to read the whole topic, has anyone mentioned loading times, there really should be, you cannot load 20 ton of tinned beans in a few seconds or a 30 ton digger.

Re: Trailer Ownership Feature
That's fairly trivial thing to add, just have it so that when arriving at depot with empty trailer, player chooses a cargo from list and is prompted a screen which tells loading time. After parking trailer to loading spot, player must confirm to load cargo and game time is advanced accordingly. Just slightly different mechanism than current way of choosing trailer and cargo combination upon arriving at depot.
Not saying it's trivial coding-wise of course.
