How to recover a deleted profile
This is a simple question, is it possible to recover one of my Profiles that I deleted by mistake?
Re: How to recover a deleted profile
Check your $Recycle Bin and see if the folder is recoverable. It should be.

Not in the game... Open Windows Explorer, and look in the left-pane for the folder named $Recycle Bin.pathfinder wrote:ok, next question how do I find the Recycle bin in the gamen4gix wrote:Check your $Recycle Bin and see if the folder is recoverable. It should be.
Click on that folder and then look for your deleted Profile folder. If you find it, select it and right-click to "Restore" from the menu.

Re: How to recover a deleted profile
Wouldn't this only work if he deleted the folder from Windows Explorer?
What if he deleted the "profile" from within the game gui?

Re: How to recover a deleted profile
maybe common 'undelete' software could recover deleted file...
Re: How to recover a deleted profile
Knowing that Windows doesn't really "delete" folders or files, but simply moves their indexed pointers to the $Recycle Bin for later possible recovery, it should still work. The actual folder/file deletion is handled by the operating system.Unco wrote:Wouldn't this only work if he deleted the folder from Windows Explorer?

Until and unless the user deliberately chooses to use the "Empty Recycle Bin" function, the actual bits of the data remain intact on the hard drive.

No. The program needs to have explicit support to take advantage of the recycle bin. Otherwise it just deletes the file. ETS2 does not support recycle bin.n4gix wrote: Knowing that Windows doesn't really "delete" folders or files, but simply moves their indexed pointers to the $Recycle Bin for later possible recovery, it should still work. On the other hand some versions of Windows keep previous versions of some files so it might be possible to find older version of the profile http://www.howtogeek.com/56891/use-wind ... our-files/.
