That patching is more CPU bound than storage speed bound. However, an hour is incredible slow. Have you watched the patching steps in Steam, sometimes the downloads get corrupted and the whole process has to start again. That might explain it. Sounds like its just your pc/connection. My downloads have never taken an hr. 5 mins tops for me at 505 mbps download/517 upload. Check your download speeds with your internet service. Wouldn't that affect installing the game as well. And it would affect other games also?

So I've notice recently that updating both this and ets2 have become excruciatingly slow. Installed on an SSD, the patch downloads fine, but the patch process takes an hour or more. It is literally (no exaggeration, I do mean literally) faster to uninstall the game and reinstall it.

The problem ISN'T where you can go with your truck. The problem is that it detaches your trailer and sends it back to the garage, even if you choose to STAY RIGHT WHERE YOU ARE.
