Re: Truck World: Australia
every truck and trailer has ABS (well it is called EBS and it is mandatory on ever truck+trailer) and it works 100% of the time, if it doesnt it means it is defective or the sensors are broken, its job is exactly to prevent the locking up of the wheels (the EBS version is even so advanced it locks/...

Re: Truck World: Australia
They work as intended, which is not 100% effectiveness, because that is simply not possible. Nothing is 100% effective. If you only tested it a couple times, you lack enough data. Any vehicle with ABS will most likely work at least a couple times. Even in my truck that practically didn't have ABS at...

Re: Have you ever driven a truck in real life?
In Arkansas, the physical is not mentioned on your CDL. Instead, you carry your "Medical Examinar's Certificate" with you. I'd assume this is the same even if you have a Class D (not a CDL). Also, training on automatic is probably better in the long run, as it is less to deal with as a new...

Re: REKT!! You're Doing it Wrong.
Looks fun indeed, but it only further shows my issue: if you have to resort to these situations to have fun with the game, then the game has some serious issues the devs really need to look into.

Re: Truck World: Australia
Truck ABS is not nearly as good as car ABS. Right, @bobgrey1997? It's still possible to temporarily lock up brakes (especially on trailers), and even without full lock, sliding is still possible and realistic. Example: this Volvo jackknifing on a slick road. Tires aren't stuck to the ground like th...

Re: REKT!! You're Doing it Wrong.
I just noticed how that sentence comes across. Oops. I honestly didn't mean it to be a roast like that, just seemed like the most efficient use of characters and least words to get the point across. Well, I suppose it doesn't change the fact that they can tweak the AI and the fines (and even give us...

Re: REKT!! You're Doing it Wrong.
This is only made worse by SCS' complete lack of logic for the fine system (logic as in a software determining a result based on a set of given states, not logic as in train of though from the devs). The system merely checks if the player has made physical contact with another vehicle, then calculat...

Re: Have you ever driven a truck in real life?
3.5 and 4.5 ton limits? Here in the US, a Class D (typical driver's license) is good for any vehicle up to 13 tons, unless it has 16 or more occupants (at which point a Class C Commercial license is needed). Beyond 13 tons, a Class B Commercial license is needed. This also allows for trailers up to ...

Re: Poll: Choose (2) States you would like to see next
Honestly, Louisiana is probably absolutely required to be directly after Oklahoma (if not before). Releasing too many of the Plains states would probably be catastrophic to this game. A good portion of the community is already getting upset and tired of this boring game (a complete lack of engaging ...

Re: Have you ever driven a truck in real life?
The only hours of service rule I hate is the mandatory 30 minut break after 8 hours of driving. The way I see it, if I've driven for nearly 8 hours and am forced to stop for a break, that's the end my day. I can manage 11 hours straight without much issue (with short breaks in there for bathroom and...
