2-3 gameplays later: I take back my point on the placement of quit option and close button placement. I pretty much got used to the menus. It's not a huge deal anymore.

Yeah no way they are bringing back the old UI anytime soon. The main reason why they had to do is is to accommodate more features. Aesthetics are secondary.
