Re: "to pave the way for future additions; which will introduce new features to our games"...

The exe growth could be tons of awesome new under-the-hood changes (I hope), or it could just be they are now statically linking a library they use instead of dynamically linking it (IE including a code library in the exe instead of having it as an external .dll).

Re: ATS 1.39 Open Beta Discussion

Remember they said they have been doing non-visible work in the engine to allow for future bigger improvements. I'm happy with that. ATS has so much potential, but a lot of it probably requires big work on the engine itself. I think they're doing that and we're gonna see great things next year. I be...

Skoot & pigbrother: I sooooo hope your theory is true. Like many others I immediately had the coach thought and the multiplayer thought. If they do add multiplayer (even something very basic) I'll be pestering everyone on my Steam Friends list to buy ATS and truck with me. I'll also be doing at leas...

Feedback on the launcher redesign

Note: I know this is the bugs section, but the latest Steam news post on 1.39 does link here. Feedback! The "Mod Manager" button is the odd one out! It is (AFAIK) for managing mods of the selected profile. All the other buttons in the column are not profile-specific (IE the other buttons are for exe...

"to pave the way for future additions; which will introduce new features to our games"...

One of the first things you may notice when you launch American Truck Simulator with the 1.39 Open Beta is a redesign of the current launchpad. The main reason why we are introducing this change is to pave the way for future additions; which will introduce new features to our games , that will be a...

Re: Mods to Vanilla

@cwat89 - nice! I'm still on just two mods: the amazing Sound Fixes Pack and the awesome Realistic Rain mod. I keep getting tempted to install other mods, but I don't because: - I don't want to delay the installation of new versions of ATS waiting for 3rd party devs to update their mods. - I don't w...

Re: Grahics issues when driving

Good luck! One more thing worth trying: update your graphics card drivers. It may be a graphics card bug. This may fix the monitor frequency/vsync issue you seem to have discovered. Before you update it might be worth making a note of the currently installed driver version just in-case the newer ver...

Re: Given the choice, would you mostly drive older or newer trucks in ATS?

I just checked out the Freightliner Classic XL and the Freightliner FLC 120. I prefer the look of the FLC 120. Both are beautiful trucks though. Exactly the kind of thing I love. cwat89: I bet it's not just "simplicity" you like. You probably also like elegant designs (very well thought out) and eas...
