Re: How much do you think the price in Texas will be?

Speculation time with numbers from Google: Let's do some quick math - average software engineer salary per month in Prague: 4000,- - number of people in office: 300 - employer overhead for employee pension/office/etc/all other things: 2. So SCS needs 4000 *12 * 300 * 2 = 28,800,000.- euro per year ...

C500. There, I've said it. There are oilfield placements on the maps and with the Texas DLC coming up I really need a Texas bed oilfield truck.

Re: Trailer ownership seems useless financially

I like driving my own trailers because I like to specialize in a certain freight type: lowboys/dropdecks. It makes it easier for me to pick my loads. But I agree: there should be more game elements that promote having your own trailer.

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread

One of the interesting things about the stream was that numbers the Pavol mentioned: 280 people working, 13 new hires very recently, 12 people in marketing, it takes 2 man-years to make a truck. When a company gets a certain size there always overhead to keep a company running. Speculation time! Let...

Re: Axles vs legal weight

Theoretically you can move a trailer axle forward and have a 6x4/6x2 pull a 2 axle trailer at 40 ton. But because in practice 90% of all trailers are 3 axle trailers most companies do not bother with a 6x4/6x2 and just use a 4x2 truck. And then this is the general weight distribution idea: http://i....

Re: SCS General Discussion Thread

While I would really like to see electric truck in ETS2/ATS my worry is that they would not be fun to drive because of the range of the current electric trucks. If you have to stop at a supercharger every 500km while playing that would get annoying really fast. And if SCS would fake the range by giv...

Re: Question about gearboxes in older European trucks

That is actually a good question. In the manual for the DAF 2800/3300/3600 they explicitly state that the ZF S6-90, 16S-130 and 16S-160 are synchronized gearboxes and that double clutching is not allowed. And the DAF 2800 is from the early 70s. When were the 1st synchronized gearboxes introduced in ...
