The wheels don't lock that easily now or slide at all because they have a lot more grip compared to real life. Maybe 4-5 times more.

Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread

Some fixed plate and some sliders, they were all between the tandem axles. But if you guys think that this needs improving, do submit a bug report. We still have to ensure that every single trailer will clear the rear mudflaps with the fifth wheel position.

Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread

At least for the 49X, the fifth wheel is in the same position as Western Star's references.

Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread

Good to know, that said the V and the HE have the same internals ratio (DC/OC are listed as being both the V and the HE), albeit in different casings (vocational trucks use the PTO much more often, while it's much rarer for on-highway) and a different programmation(with the auto-approved differenti...

Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread

@Oscar why did you remove the -OA/-DA gearboxes? Adding new ones I can understand (especially since 2 out of 3 seem heavy haul-oriented), but why remove the options? Edit: also, re: chassis length. The wheelbase itself is ok, but the empty space between the cab and rear wheels is just disconcerting...

Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread

I didn't know those gearboxes were removed. I don't think that's right. I'll check.

For the beacons, please make a bug report if it's broken.

Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread

Because that's not something Western Star is putting on their production 49X. It's probably what we call a dealership option We've tried putting it on the door where the Clean Idle sticker is now, but WS said if we wanted to add it, it should go below the door handle, which looked weird. If you loo...

Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread

To be honest I found it weird too. But as Flight50 said, I guess we're just not used to it.

Re: Western Star Trucks Discussion Thread

The 8x4 length is based on what Western Star provided. You can certainly custom-order longer or shorter wheelbases, but we chose to stay true to our references.
