Xbox one Controller Layout?

#1 Post by BelowAverageBrad » 11 Jan 2018 11:14

Hello Truckers!
I recently started using an Xbox One controller over my wheel (don't ask) and while it's at least to me, slightly "easier" to use in the sense of its smaller and I can move around more freely, etc.

Anyways back on topic, while my wheel is nice with all the button's on it, the controller definitely lacks in that department, so I thought I would come on here and see what other controller users had setup for button layouts?

I have mine pretty much left on default, but I put my high-beams on D-up, Hazards on D-right and Beacons on D-down, and put my wipers on B, and my Dash/info on select. In ETS that wasn't too much of an issue, but with ATS I'm starting to wish I had a few more free buttons for things like Engine brake, possible gears? I've been using a simple automatic since using a controller.

I may go back to my wheel, I just don't have a lot of desk space, so when I play I have to hook it all up and then take it apart, and I feel like when I use it, I always have to sit in the proper "spot/way" where as the controller I can relax more.

Any feedback would be awesome! I'm loving the new mexico DLC and glad I'm getting back into trucking again, its a great way to relax at the of a long day.

left stick = turning (obviously)
right stick = camera
left stick press = beacon
right sitck press = camera reset

d-pad left = wipers
d-pad right = high beam flash
d-pad up/down = cruise control

burger button = horn
menu button = air horn
(^ can only be mapped if you select Xinput as device)

A = zoom
B = high beam
X = light
Y = hazard lights

left trigger = acceleration
right trigger = brake

left bumper = left indicator
right bumper = right indicator

this should be it out of the top of my head, strangely if i quit the game i dont know wich button is for what anymore :lol:

little tip: buy a Xbox One Chatpad, with this you dont really need the keyboard anymore and you have all buttons on one device

Left Stick - Steering
Left Stick Press - Engine Start
Right Stick - Camera
Right Stick Press - Enter

D-Pad Up: F5
D-Pad Left: In Cab View
D-Pad Down: Chase View
D-Pad Right: Top Down View

Burger Button: Map
Menu Button: ESC

A Button: Lights
B Button: Engine Brake
X Button: Hazard Lights
Y Button: Cruise Control

Left Trigger: Brake Pedal
Right Trigger: Gas Pedal

Left Bumper: Left Turn Signal
Right Bumper: Right Turn Signal

Carl... are you using a USB cable to connect your Xbox One controller to the PC? When I did that I had no problems with the chatpad and it was an awesome combination. I switched to a newer Bluetooth controller so I could ditch the USB cable stretched across the floor (I play in my living room on a 75" TV) and since then my chatpad does not work. I can use the same controller on my Xbox One and the chatpad is fine... it's like it is not recognized via Bluetooth on the PC. I have updated the firmware on both the controller and chatpad.

left stick = steering
left stick press = horn

right stick = camera

d-pad left = light
d-pad right = wipers
d-pad down = hide/show router advisor

burger button = engine
menu button = map

A = enter
B = in cab view
X = router advisor next page
Y = attach trailer

right trigger = acceleration
left trigger = brake

left bumper = left indicator
right bumper = right indicator

left bumper + right bumper = hazard lights

Probably change when my Chatpad arrives.

@Bocaj, you need to delete the bindings for drive and reverse in the controls section, and then bind shift up and shift down in the keys and buttons section.
