To answer the original question, as long as your joystick supports DirectInput it will work in game. All joysticks for PC should support DirectInput by design.

I would not recommend using a joystick for driving games however. The only thing i use my joysticks for in ETS 2 is the buttons on the base of the joystick.

From what I have read, the best use for a joystick in ETS2 is to use it as a shifter with the right software.

I have found an old Saitek X52 which I want to experiment with but alas only have a two pedal wheel set with no clutch :(

About price, as Onion said, heh if its an original Xbox controller they cost as much as the wheel I'm using more or less. Maybe the 360 ones are cheaper now but every time I've looked it up its been to expensive to bother with, rather just get a wheel. ;P

I got xbox wheel from Thrustmaster, 458 Italia wheel ^^

If a player has left as its his turn to be on the button can the button be dead in a cash game or is it moved on.
