PS3 Controller (36 functions assigned!)

#1 Post by Scott S » 06 Jan 2015 02:43

I, like a lot of folks, use a PS3 controller (faking as a 360 controller) to play ETS2.

Obviously, with there being only 10 buttons (plus d-pad) (not including the L2/R2, it's kind of limited. Or so I thought.

I've been playing around in the control.sii file, and have finally found a configuration that I like, and thought I'd share it in case it appeals to anyone else.

L2= Brake
R2= Throttle
L1 = Left Turn Signal
R1 = Right Turn Signal
L1 + R1 = Hazards (4-way blinkers)
Left Stick Left/Right = Steering
Left Stick Up/Down = Radio Favourite up/down
Right Stick = Camera Control
L3 = Light Toggle (off/parking/low-beam)
R3 = Activate / Light horn (flash lights)
Square = Wipers
Triangle = Cruise Control
Circle = Air Horn
Cross = "Shift"
Select = Beacon
Start = Menu
D-Pad UP = Interior Look forward
D-Pad Down = Parking Break
D-Pad Left = Interior Look Left
D-Pad Right = Interior Look Right

Cross + L1 = Gear Down
Cross + R1 = Gear Up
Cross + L1 + R1 = Gear Neutral
Cross + Left Stick Up/Down = Radio Volume up/down
Cross + L3 = High Beams
Cross + D-Pad Up = Cruise Control Increase Speed
Cross + D-Pad Down = Cruise Control Decrease Speed
Cross + D-Pad Left = Trailer Attach/Detach
Cross + D-Pad Right = Engine on/off
Cross + Square = Route Advisor Map View
Cross + Triangle = Route Advisor Job Screen
Cross + Circle = Route Advisor Damage Information Screen
Cross + Select = Map
Cross + Start = Dashboard Toggle

I've attached a .zip file of my control.sii file, in case anybody wishes to use it, or study it, or whatever. Hopefully somebody will find it useful!

I used to use better DS3, but I was always looking for a better method, as I'm not a fan of the motionjoy drivers (they're incredibly buggy).

I stumbled across another method, which I've found to be a lot more reliable: Youtube Video.

Ever since discovering/switching to that method, I've had ZERO problems with my controller(s), be it hard-wired, or via bluetooth.

Haha understandable, but I highly recommend bookmarking it, in case you ever need to do a reinstall of the OS or anything :)
