Linux-track

#1 Post by Calico Jack » 25 Jun 2015 18:26

I've been trying to get this working under OSX and the documentation is scarce even for Linux its intended platform.

Initially getting the Linux-track virtual "device" running was problematic due to user permissions not being loaned to the execable creating the virtual interface, the work around was:

Code: Select all

sudo touch /dev/uinput
chmod 666 /dev/uinput
This simply creates an empty file with the correct access permissions in the expected directory and only messing with that file's permissions.

ltr_pipe lists the following data output formats:

Code: Select all

String output data format options:

  --format-default Write all LinuxTrack values
  --format-flightgear FlightGear format
  --format-il2 IL-2 Shturmovik DeviceLink format
  --format-il2-6dof IL-2 Shturmovik version 4.11+ DeviceLink format
--format-silentwings Silent Wings remote control format

Binary output data format options:

  --format-headtrack EasyHeadTrack compatible format
  --format-mouse ImPS/2 mouse format
I've tried -default, -headtracker and -mouse but I can't get ETS 2 to recognise the new "joystick" (ie it's not showing up in the controller set-up menus) so I'm clearly missing something important - can anyone help?
