Re: G27 MOD - Scania knob + button panel
Hello,
I'd like to make a Scania shift knob for ETS2 aswell. But I don't want to have that button panel/box. Is there a way to have it working without using that box?

Sure. But remember: SCS add some keys every update

Any progress yet? You can do this with a spare computer mouse, or some arduino or teensy USB device. Im very interested in making this myself, however the gear shifters of real trucks are still quite expensive. I'm trying to get a sample now from Alibaba from the big companies that only sell you at least 1000.
I also have a 3D printer, so maybe designing a knob would also be nice. Did anyone find any suitable switches for this? The highlow shifter seems quite special, although it still is just a regular switch inside.

@MsG mine was working fine for two years
I used an old joystick and an unofficial gear knob. It is a low price config, I spend less than 50 dollars on it (plus 30 dollars in the button panel.

Hey Cleber, sorry for bumping this thread now but you're one (the first one) of the two guys who actually did this and I could find after a couple of hours of research. Excluding two Russians which did it with andurino and such but explaining in Russian exclusively...
I'll receive a Scania knob in about two weeks. It's this one:
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mr3xvgd
After some research, I've found people tend to use this kind of joystick custom boards which could allow you to do it without welding: https://www.amazon.es/dp/B06XCTJ1JP/ref ... PFbESPNS2R
Would it be an option in this project for you?
And about wiring in general, I'd like to ask you for a more in depht explanation of it to make this real. It really looks great. (Oh! And as someone said up there, I'm not that interested in a button box for now, maybe in the future).

Looks nice, and not that expensive. Let me know if you succeed in building this thing? Maybe I'd buy something like this myself too.

Sorry guys, I haven't been here for a long time.
@Mustelu Yes this is really interesting, but I used a simple joypad and soldered the wires to activate the switches.
I accepted you on Steam
@MsG Yes, it works from the beginning.
@ghost-a2f I used a joypad (see 7th image)
