G29/G920 are improved version of the DFGT with an option for H-SHifter

The biggest improvement in my opnion is the progressive pedal spring on the brake, internal mechanics are the same as in G27 with some firmware tweaking what could(supposing) can give better FFB(never seen Logitech claiming that).

As long as i know there's both verisons because SONY and MS can't leave together supporting the same wheel(Console War)

Afaterall, if you can find a NEW G27 go for it if the price is under the newer ones, BUT if you ever plan in game on consoles make your choice based on what platform you are going to take to guarantee compatibility

Other difference is G27 have 3 year warranty, while G29/G920 is only 2 years

All Wheel sizes are same, right? None of them bigger than DFGT wheel, nor none of them offer 1800 degrees

I've seen used DFGT's for as little as $25.00 in pawn shops and yard sales, slightly more on Ebay, but I would advise caution there... The possibility of getting burned is pretty high at Ebay. Make sure you use a credit card that will back you up just in case. I have also seen some and G27's for around $75.00 and up, but who knows if they are complete or just the wheel. I would not suggest buying any used wheel unless you can test it first, and or have an iron clad refund guarantee and return option.

I have a G29 and the pedals are rubbish. They've started to spike after 1 year of usage, same as the G27 pedals which I returned twice.
What I say is mostly accurate.

Going on work trips to bring you guys new trucks, trailers... and maybe more?

I couldn't justify the prices of the G29/G920, so I went with a barely-used DFGT I found on ebay. I wouldn't mind an H-shifter, but since automatics are so prevalent in European usage, and are steadily gaining ground in the US, the sequential shifter isn't bad. Also, I drive a manual in real life, and there's just no way to simulate the live "feel" of the gears and clutch without force feedback on the pedal and the shifter -- and that would be complicated and cost some serious $$$!

To me, the DFGT brake pedal is perfect for a truck sim. Fairly light, and mushy down near the bottom of its travel -- just like the typical American airbrakes I've encountered. It would be awful for a racing sim, and if airbrake "feel" is better in Europe or has improved since the 1980's in the US, then it might not be so great, but It's very much like what I remember on the real thing in the US.

I also tweak the feedback and deadzone settings differently for ATS and ETS2. For ATS, plenty of deadzone (turn the wheel an inch or two before much happens) and light force feedback resistance, to simulate the typically numb and vague handling of American trucks as I remember them -- quite a bit of steering play, and massive amounts of hydraulic boost. For ETS2, I keep the deadzone a bit tighter and stiffen the force feedback resistance to turning. I patterned the feel after the 1990s-era Land Rover Discovery I used to drive (which had basically a truck's steering system) as well as the behavior of the medium-duty import cab-overs I prefer to rent when I need a box truck.

So, basically, I configure my wheel and pedal settings to varying degrees from "awful" to "meh..." handling to resemble trucks I've driven in real life. No need for (expensive) precision to do that, so the DFGT works great for me!

If you aren't running racing sims, just ETS2/ATS, then I'd choose a wheel based mostly on value and convenient controls. (The DFGT and G29 are great for this.) If you also enjoy racing, then you may want to start with the G29 or G920 or move up-market depending more on your needs for racing sims.

Did you know that ETS2 allows 3 controllers to be set up in the game Options, and 3 more in each of your profile controls.sii files? That can be useful if you know how to do it and you have more than 3 controllers. Which I don't and that is why I never bothered to read all the posts here about it and figure out how to do it. I just know it can be done.

Instead of getting a different wheel to get buttons, you can just get a gamepad and \ or joystick and assign buttons \ keys to them. I use that method with a Logitech Dual Action gamepad and a Logitech Attack 3 joystick assigning keys with the Logitech Profiler, and I have more buttons than I need. It may not be as pretty and all that, but if it's useful buttons you want, there's a much cheaper way to get them.
