After using this plugin for nearly two years in conjunction with the Logitech G29, I thought that it might be a good idea to share my settings with the community. I've had very good luck with these (no knocking) and it feels fairly realistic in my opinion.

Btw.: Thanks for this amazing port of the FFB plugin! It works really well!
(But I would of course also support open-sourced code and/or official force feedback support from SCS ;))

You've ended up with similar settings to me, mine's a bit lighter. Also using a G29.

Yes I have to agree great work! I got one problem though. I also own the driving force GT and its centering itself all the time. I mean its wobbling in the middle when I let go of it. Sorry I don't know a way to describe this better. I already tried tweaking the settings but with no luck. Is there something like centering deadzone?

I have read a little bit and tried everything the other guys did to solve there problem here. But it is still not working. I can't find any physics file, also when I use only your mod without ltwheel the wheel is never set to 900 degree. I tried all sorts of INI files already and tweaked all options available, nothing helped me. I also do not have any Physic Mod installed only Promods.

Hello everybody

Two days ago was released a new driver that activates a lot of new effects on Logitech Wheels. With this driver is not necessary to use this plugin to get Force Feedback. You can find more info here:
https://www.reddit.com/r/linux_gaming/c ... r_for_our/

With it you feel more more effects when you drive

Still, I would like to thank 50keda for the work he has provided us with so many hours of enjoyment.

No new effects at all! There's still constant force. I succesfully compiled driver + oversteer gui, but it's not working. Yes, I turned off this 50keda plugin. Ubuntu 18.04.3, g27 wheel. There's awfull center dead zone with new driver. Nah

????
Strange...
The great 50keda plugin works with constant force only, new-lg4ff uses a lot of effects like friction, spring and periodic in this game. I don't have any dead zone on the wheel. Maybe you made something wrong. Otherwise, I think you are very hard with a driver in alpha state. Thanks for your help.

It's great news that we have a proper driver now as it helps with other games like Project Cars 2 that now runs perfectly under proton, but I just can't get comfortable with it in ATS. I get a lot of vibration unless I turn the gain down so far that there's almost no feedback at all. I spent ages trying different settings but just can't get it right. So for me I'm still using the plugin.

Also note that the plugin was initially written for windows so the people using it on windows also prefer it to the way ATS have implemented FFB.

Just pointing out that the plugin is still useful.

Edit: Using the new driver now after some more fiddling, it does have a couple of big advantages, being able to adjust it from within the game rather than having to exit the game each time. Also being able to plug it in after starting the game and having it all work is handy, I often forget it.

@50keda
Hello, I tried this plugin on macOS version of ETS 2, but plugin doesn't work (and FFB is not working on ETS 2 macOS version in general with G29).
But when I tried build some examples it looks that Telemetry SDK works on macOS version. I also successfully tried some experiments with communication with G29 from macOS.
So my question is:
Is it possible to give me sources code of this FFB plugin for my tries to port it for macOS, because I have (I trust) working input side, working output side, but I am not really sure how to do some calculations between this two "sides" for best FFB feel.

I don't know if this is potential bug or intended functionality but what I'm experiencing with this plugin is textured power steering emulation. By that I mean that holding the wheel straight and steady regardless of what surface I'm driving over I get no vibration or feedback from the wheel. If I turn the wheel then there is resistance to the turn which I've matched to what I experience in the car and it's only during that turning that I experience any kind of feedback. For example driving in a quarry straight, no feedback, turning then the turn gives a brief sensation of bumps as if driving over an uneven surface. The same for speed bumps. Going over straight, nothing, go over and turn the wheel at the same time then I get a bump on the wheel.

I would expect the plugin the give force feedback no matter if the wheel is turning or not.

Real servo systems mask the terrain or bumps. Of course feedback from a real truck driver is welcome here though.
The new Volvo FMX can be steered by hamster for example ;)
