Hi there,

Just started using this. Are you not suppose to feel things such as speedbumps, road bumps, or is something wrong in my setup?

You will not feel a lot of bumps with this plugin. The feedback occurs according to the tires and the angle in which they're pressed against. I do, however, feel the gear changes under engine load with an Allison automatic gearbox. It's pretty interesting!

Last night I was trying to set up the plugin to work with ATS (recently bought it after a long time playing only ETS 2). Strangely, it was quite painful to get it to work my G27, even though it was working fine with ETS 2 earlier. The wheel was feeling very stiff with a decent amount of dead zone in the center, similar to the way the wheel feels when first connecting it to the PC before launching any game. I was very surprised by this, I thought maybe that was the way American truck' steering wheels should feel like but it felt really wrong because I wasn't getting any force feedback other than stiffness even though I had enabled engine vibrations in the '.ini' file earlier. I remember seeing some other people from a few pages back complaining about a very stiff wheel, and the way I was able to solve this/my problem, in the end, was by completely uninstalling and then reinstalling the Logitech Gaming Software. Immediately after doing just that, the good ol' FFB feeling which I remembered from the days when the plugin had worked for me on ETS 2 was brought back to life.

If that doesn't work for you, it may also be worth a shot to try to uninstall and reinstall your 2012 Visual V++ redistributable. That's mostly the advice that I can give because such problems are 99.99% of the time caused by a software/hardware issue, the forcefeedback should feel quite smooth when it's set up properly even with the default values, so there's no use tweaking with the .ini file to get rid of excessive stiffness.

Hi supric,

Have not been playing for a while, but getting into ATS and remembered your great plugin. However, the game does not register the plugin. No log is created in the plugin folder and there is nothing in the game.log.txt either. Uninstalled vJoy before I tried as I knew that was conflicting. Everything else updated (C++ Redistributable and .NET). Any hint to where/how I can debug or figure out what is going wrong?

I'm now getting some weird feedback on ATS where the wheel (centered) would "jerk" left/right whether the truck is moving or not. Is anybody having the same issue after the 1.29 update? I am using a G27.

Issue occurs with vanilla profile. Maybe worse with the physics mod I installed on my modded profile.

So someone mentioned that they were having problems getting this to work in the new 1.30 beta for ETS2. It works fine for me, but I modify the setting in controls.sii for calculating non-linear steering for a more realistic effect. If the plugin isn't working for you any more, try replacing that line with this:

Code: Select all

config_lines[171]: "mix steering `dsteering - (0.7 * normalize(abs(j_steer?0), c_steer_dz) + (0.3 * (c_steer_func / 2)) * pow(normalize(abs(j_steer?0), c_steer_dz), 4)) * sign(sel(c_jisteer, -j_steer?0, j_steer?0))`"

Yes, I was informed that the person having trouble with it was caused by his own hardware configuration. Ignore my previous post, as it wont fix any issues, but it still gives great non-linear steering

I actually face serious issues with plugin in 1.29 of ATS with New Mexico. Force feedback kicks much harder than previously and now it's literally jumping out of my hands sometimes. No changes to config from my end apart from this change discussed in posts above. And it is jerking left and right when truck is not moving

EDIT: I had allow game to adjust settings ticked. I'll retry now but I believe that will fix the issue.

EDIT2: Issue is still there :( :(
