To use 64bit enable it from ETS2's launch option;

If you right click on your Steam system tray icon and click on Euro Truck Simulator 2, you will see this:

BTW to confirm whether you are playing 32bit or 64bit version

run game.
Press Alt + Tab
Right click on your taskbar
Select "Start Task Manager" from list
Click on the "Processes" Tab
Look for eurotrucks2.exe

If it says *32 after the eurotrucks2.exe then you are still running 32bit, if however there is nothing after the eurotrucks2.exe then congrats your firing on 64bit premium octaine awesomeness :D

example: (32bit)

If you go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Euro Truck Simulator 2\bin\win_x64 and then right click the eurotrucks2.exe and "Create Desktop Shortcut" then you will know you are always launching the 64bit version.

(also you can add the -nointro launch parameter to the shortcut if you like too just remember to add a space before each launch parameter ;) )

The main thing is that 64bit gives the game access to much more memory. A 64bit CPU also has wider registers but the main draw is the memory.

Sounds like a great reason to go 64. Thanks, romabysen.

Make sure your OS and CPU are 64bit

^^Isn't that obvious? Makes me wonder if steam would download the ETS2's 64bit folder for x86 OS platform? Doesn't make sense.
