Mouse drive - Sugestion

#1 Post by SilvaTrucker » 01 Jun 2016 23:00

Hello. I know that this isn't a bug, but I can't find the right place for this.

My idea is turn athis "thing" to an option for who drives with mouse:

Please elaborate
I've been using the mouse for steering since I started playing the game
Works excellent and much better than keyboard need som adjusting/learning though

Must agree with plykkegaard.
The 'device' shown in the OP was in ETS2, but has disappeared. It is, however, present in ATS.

The idea is to remove that "round thing" that appears in the outside cameras for who uses the mouse, or turn it into an option.

That would be nice, or change the color so its less "distracting" like black instead of gold...

I started using mouse steering back in ets1 I think... mouse steering is great, I was so used to steereing mouse that when I tried a wheel, It just felt weird...

@oggich
Turn the Steering Sensitivity way down. Set Steering on-Linearity to about half. Thus:

@oggich
Even if you have the Controls set to "Keyboard only" you can still assign mouse buttons to game actions. It's done the same way as assigning keys to actions.

You can also edit this line in controls.sii in your active profile folder to:

Code: Select all

"mix msteering `-mouse.rel_position.x?0 * c_msens * 0.25`"
The added * 0.25 reduces the sensivity to 25%. ;)

oggich wrote: 12 Dec 2018 12:07 @room217au; Thanks! Tweaked it for keyboard only and the steering is fine,not so jumpy like it was before. Will try it with mouse steering. How can i assign forward/backward keys to left/right mouse button?
Use the W and S on the keyboard. You'll find it's easier that way. I'll come back later and edit this with my list of key and Button controls if you want.

I use a Logitech G602 wireless mouse and it works great. Most all of the cab controls are set to the mouse. I just wish the scroll could be used for the throttle, as I can't find a way to set it up.
