[1.25] wrong place to stop in "T" crossing roads
Hello,
In my pc, again, since v1.24, In many profiles, I've been notice that all ai vehicles stops in a wrong place on almost all kind of cross roads, mainly "T" type.
it is worst when I'm using a big trailer and comes vehicles from any places.

Very irritating, using g_traffic 0 works wonders imo the AI is bl00dy horrendous, AI prioity seems to be configured backwards, they giveway in all the wrong places, not unless this is how they drive where ever SCS are based.

The stop line is drawn on the wrong entry into the crossroad too. You should have it in front of your truck in that picture. The straight ahead traffic will always have right of way in such crossings.

Hi mates,
Yes, it happens to me all the time.
Look at these shots:
Three AI trucks blocking me:

Three cars blocking me:
[ external image ]ets2_00107 by golcan arg, en Flickr
Two cars face to face. And, believe it or not, if you see behind them far in the right, two trucks are in the same situation!
[ external image ]ets2_00169 by golcan arg, en Flickr
Four vehicles blocking me:
[ external image ]ets2_00172 by golcan arg, en Flickr
An AI car suddenly stopped in the highway, and didn't move anymore.

AI behaviour sometimes is non-sense. I don't know what happened, I only hope SCS can solve it soon.
Regards.

Re: [1.25] wrong place to stop in "T" crossing roads
OP, Could he be stopping late, because he got scared, when you drove out on the road (over the stop line)?
Or would he stop there, because he should left anyway, no matter where you are?
Usual I notice that they are driving more "normally" when we keep our nose inside the stop lines our self.
I am not saying that they are perfect, not at all, but most of the time, they react after what we do.
As many also says, like that they always drive out and into us in a roundabout, but usual it's because we drive
all the way to the right in it, even we will not take the next exit.
golcan, Pic 1, yes they block you, because you have driven out (over the line) on the road and they then STOP for you rather than drive. Backup a few meters and they drive along.
Pic 2 and 4, same story
Not that it is correct, but this is why they stop. If you have this is mind, it is much more easy to drive smooth in traffic.
My best advice: Adapt to the AI traffic, they will not adapt to your driving.

Re: [1.25] wrong place to stop in "T" crossing roads
It is annoying, I`ve been in this situation daily on one of those intersections.
The solution might be SCS repositioning the signs on the intersection, which would improve the observation angles of the intersection. This would mean you would easly be tracking traffic from left and right behind your stop/give way line.
I`ve seen that on some map mods and it works like a charm.

Re: [1.25] wrong place to stop in "T" crossing roads
AI is crazy and while SCS tried to fix it, it's still annoying and making mistakes over and over again. Sometimes they don't even stop where they should, while at some places they stop and don't move (even though you don't have enough room to move anywhere).
Re: [1.25] wrong place to stop in "T" crossing roads
I agree with Flemming that much of the issue is dependant on where you stop, as well as the status of your indicator. This doesn't mean I think the AI is working as intended. At some of these intersections you have no choice but to pull out just to see the traffic. As soon as you cross the line, even by a centimetre, and the AI stops in the most inconvenient place. And roundabouts...the number of times I've been hit by AI traffic when I had the apparent right of way.
Never argue with idiots. They bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

In this case you are the reason you're stuck.golcan wrote: Four vehicles blocking me:

The car directly in front of you wants to turn left AND HAS RIGHT OF WAY. By pulling out so far you have prevented him from being able to go by making traffic back up on your left.
The other cars in front of you stopped because you pulled out of the junction too much.
While the AI is a bit dodgy, this one was your own doing. (turning off the indicator will sometimes make the cars going straight forward begin moving again)
