stuck on a ramp

#1 Post by Fridog333 » 05 Nov 2017 02:53

Hello, I just started with this game. I cant get the truck and trailer up the ramp on the british side of the Chunnel.
It will make it to the top and the truck stops as if the brakes are applied. If I detatch the trailer I can get up fine.
I am in the DAF XF 530 with a 55,000 Kg load. I see no other option other than to abanbon the load.

Help!

It's difficult to get stuck there, unless you're using a physics mod that makes tires less grippy, or mods that make trailer cargo sumoweight, i'd check those too.

Something changed in physics engine since 1.28. I got stucked on an exit ramp in Germany with a 625 HP 16 gears 6x4 Mercedes and the 61 tons cargo just because the tires were skipping. Obviously, differential lock was useless. I met the same problem at NVM near Le Mans, tires were skipping on the entrance muddy bump with a 55 tons cargo, basically I wasn't able to finish the job because I couldn't get in :))

If you have liftable axle's, lift them. this puts all the weight on the driven axle, which should help it grip better.

If the ramp is too steep, al the weight goes to the rear axles of the trailer.

What here happend is irl happening too. When you go up the ramp you need to speed up and getting the momentum to reach the top. If you go too slow, you have to backing up, taking speed en go full trottle on the ramp.

I said 6x4, who the heck hauls a 61 tons load with a 6x2? It's not even legal. :D

Yeah, I know, but we're talking about a highway ramp, not some weird backstreet made without care. And the entrace in MVM is even worse, it looks totally mundane but... sigh.
