SII files special characters

#1 Post by matwor29 » 09 Dec 2017 12:40

Bonjour,
I was translating some cities names from the .sii files in def/cities when I realised that you can't use specials characters (é;ø;ƚ;ç...) in them. I found the code for some by looking into other .sii files (Ø→Ø) but I didn't find any for (éàö...)
Do someone know how to translate them or if this kind of thanslation has a name so I could find some tables ;)
Thanks

It all depends on what text format you use. You can only use non-ASCII characters if you set the text formatting to UTF-8. This will probably require a different text editor, like Notepad++, since the standard text editors from Windows usually work with ANSI formatting...

Don't ask us for a release date; we don't know either.
