Is it possible to remove or reduce HDR glare from...

#1 Post by bumbumek » 04 Aug 2020 12:57

Hi guys,

Just look at the screen below - is it possible to remove or at least reduce HDR glare from modded interior accessories without using zModeler/Blender? Should I look for some values in defs for those objects to modify it? If so, which one values? I do not want to reduce HDR itself in game, I want to leave it as it is...

I don't know if this helps:

Code: Select all

uset g_bloom "0"
In config.cfg

Unfortunately not, but thank you for your reply, dear abbas.

That command reduces HDR completely for entire game, but like I said in my first post - I don't want that.

You Can just turn it Down abit the value goes from 0-1 so try maybe g_bloom 0.3

Thanks mate, but still this is not what I mean...I'm asking about those items, not about HDR in general.

no you cant, this is bloom generated from the game, nothing will change it except g_bloom 0 > 1, and bloom itself doesnt touch HDR at all, the color of the game are still more "vibrant", g_bloom 0 just turns of the halo effect on objects that is annoying as hell

Hey, thanks for your post dear CARL. Imho, if you set g_bloom to 0, there is no HDR at all, just do it at night, park your truck near street lights, and you wil notice, that the lighting of the world is dull, not so vibrant.

That is why I was thinking about reducing brightness for those items...

no, r_hdr 0 turns of HDR, Bloom is NOT HDR, bloom is the halo effect you see on objects that stand in contrast to light (a door showing the outside would produce a bloom effect around it) and the implementation of it in game is useless because it is to much instead of subtle like it should be

We have different eyes then, because imho g_bloom has an impact on lighting, perhaps unintended, but this is SCS game, which has its own rules 😁

Just make a comparison at night, near street lights would be best, with and without activated g_bloom. You will see the difference in colors.

You could tamper with the texture?
Sorry, out of office
