Invisible obstacles at Spanish tollgates?
Has anyone ever hit what appears to be an invisible object while passing a Spanish tollgate?
The other day, I was coming at 36km/h. I am sure I was well centered. Just as I was passing Boom! 5% damage. I took screenshots on each side of my truck to see if there was something wrong:

As you can see, there is well enough clearance on each side. And I was passing through the gate where you don't have to stop. I was going well below the recommended 40km/h.
Anybody ever experienced that? I've never had anything like this happening at any other tollgates.

IME some of those booms rise slowly enough that you will clip them at anything over 30kph. Not sure where you get that recommended speed from - all of the adjacent booths with height restrictions show a red circle with 30

It was from the GPS showing 40km/h.

Speed limit and recomended booth speed are 2 different things. Recomended speed is as per signs, not your GPS.

40km/h is the legal max speed in Spain when you enter the yard BEFORE the tollgates (once there are lanes no more).
Inside the toll gates the speed is 30km/h and you should stick to that or under if you want to tele-pay without having to brake awaiting the toll gate to open.
It happens exactly that way IRL too, those toll gates have retarded opening on purpose to avoid people driving through like crazy.
BTW; that behavior is almost the same in every single toll gate in the game with tele-payment with the exception of some in Scandinavia, if I recall correctly.

OK, my bad. But, still, all of your explanations about the speed doesn't explain why I hit an invisible obstacle. And no, I didn't it the barrier, it was lifted...

you didnt, you most likely hid the barrier before it was up

Also the invisible wall for the barrier is much larger than the barrier you can see.
