Changing truck order in Truck Manager

#1 Post by Joan93 » 27 Jun 2021 20:10

Hi all.

Is there a way to change the order of the trucks in the "Truck Manager" list? By default they are ordered according to when you've bought them, but i'd like to move some trucks above on the list:

I've tried editing the order in the Save file, but it doesn't work. Does anyone another solution?

Thanks!

As also on other sheets, you can sort your trucks to each column (mileage, HP, name of trucks, etc.) by clicking the column top.

Yes, i know that, but thats not what i'm asking. Maybe i didn't asked correctly. My question is if there's a way to change that orange number in the list.

For example in the image, that Renault with the #5 to become the #1 and, with that, be on the top of the list of my trucks (by default). It would be like making a custom order of your trucks (nor by mileage, nor HP, nor name).

No, I do not think that moving the trucks to different locations, number wise, is possible. But it would already be a real help if ETS2 would remember the column sorting. Now it always jumps back to the sorting on number if you configure a truck and come back to the list.

So you want your trucks on top and drivers bottom... not possible unless you sell all d-trucks first.

Well I did think about that last year. I believe it was not possible unless you edit your game saving file.

You can definitely change the order number of trucks in your save, however I believe that you also need to change the order number of truck accessories in the same time.

You see a truck has numerous accessories. It would be a hard work if you change the order of accessories.

The trucks in the Truck Manager are listed in the order of purchase because that is how they are added to the saved game data. Theoretically it is possible to reorder the list by save editing but is the benefit of a differently sequenced list worth the risk of a damaged save?

Yeah, you were on the right track. You do it via the save file. Assuming you've decrypted it first, then open it in a text editor and look for this section.

You want to change the numbers 0-9 (or however many trucks you have) ... and then after that you want to put them back in order 0-9. You gotta do both.

And change the corresponding profit log order to match. That should be it.

I did that with my 25 trailers. I would make a backup save of your current progress, then edit that one. Load it up after your changes and make sure everything is fine.
