I have an issue with the steam uploader, having never uploaded anything before I come to upoload a skin and find that it is impossible for me to upload a skin onto the steam workshop as i have loads of .scs files in the mod folder, nothing shows in there when i go to upload. Am i doing something wrong or am i banned from the SCS uploader because of insufficient status as a player. when I make skins i goes straight to a .scs file.

The uploader takes zip files, not scs files and also requires a versions file to be present.
Also when you do the browse, you are browsing to a folder and it won't show you the contents of the folder.
The folder must only have the files required for the specific mod you are uploading as the uploader will upload all files in the folder.

One of the best ways of seeing how uploaded mods work is to subscribe to one and then have a look at it.

a versions file where do i get that from? as mod studio doesnt generate them.

and even my zip files in the mod folder are not showing up

No, the uploader will only upload your mod, and make checks. It will create nothing.

Madkine's suggestion to analyze existing workshop mods is a good one.

so where do i get the versons.sii file from? is there something i need to download in order to generate that, the wiki doesn't tell me this and notepad which reads them only saves as .txt files

so I am scuppered even before i have started

(all this came about becuause when I sent someone a local mod, we both had same mods but could not join on convoy because one of us would not recognize the others local mod even though it was the same mod)

Did you saw the menu Uploading and validation? Click on it. Under mod structure you find something for versions.sii

im not being given that option as the steam uploader is restricting me from that as i is not showing zip files.
what steam uploader sees:

so something has turned that off on me, hence why I think i have been banned from the uploader so unfortunately there is nothing that can be done.

Thanks for your help guys but i think i am banned from the uploader as i am unable to validate mods (the option menu isn't showing on the interface) and as that is the case There is little that I can do and so have had to uninstall the uploader as I am unable to validate the mod i wish to upload as All i am doing now is going into a loop and that is only going to get people's backs up. It would be nice to share some of the skins I make on the steam workshop but that is however alas not possible for me to do.

Thanks for your time but I feel that if i go on, i will only be wasting your time and that would be unfair on you because I am unable to proceed any further.

No as I said the uploader will NEVER show you the content of a directory, thus the directory you link to can only have the mod you want in it.

Create a new directory with just the one mod zip file in and try and upload that.

A simple versions.sii file looks something like this:
