Suggest a radio stream!
Re: Suggest a radio stream!
I am going to listen radio via VLC, maybe that's the best solution
Re: Suggest a radio stream!
I only listen to one radio station – BBC radio 4 (from 00.00h GMT to ~04:20h GMT is the BBC world service)
It’s a mix of world news, currant affairs, radio dramas, topical interviews, comedy panel shows, reviews etc etc.
Schedule:

My favourite station to listen to when trucking or modding, which I can't believe hasn't been mentioned yet in 6 pages, is EuroTruck Radio.
http://www.eurotruckradio.com
.sii line: stream_data[0]: "http://radio.eurotruckradio.com:8002/st ... d|UK|128|1"
All the DJs are actually players of the game & most , if not all, play the multiplayer mod too. They all play different shows to cater for Rock, Metal, Country, Chart, Dance, R&B, etc. They also play requests. Just go to the request page on the website.

Re: Suggest a radio stream!
ALRIGHT!!!!
Got a Jazz radio stream to work, seems to only accept MP3's as far as I know, of course I got the stream from that Shoutcast site.
So far I almost got it to show just like the stock radio streams in-game but, I could not get the bitrate to show (never mind I added too many "||" between "INT" and "128", that's computers for ya) and I have no idea what that "0" on the end is supposed to do. ABC-Lounge is international right?
But I will be adding more jazz streams, the perfect thing to listen to when everything else sucks, now hopefully "The Rippingtons" will play on that stream or the "smoothjazz.com" stream.
Thank you Mr. Ohaha!!!
Update:
Now I get what the "1" stands for, that is when you fav the station and apparently the game will renumber the stations on its own, I guess when I start messing with the ordering of the streams in-game.

Well, I have learned quite a bit about radio streams today and definitely great to know my computer can play those without the game or some special software, very nice to know.

Re: Suggest a radio stream!
Now yer talkin'! I love the Ripps. They are one of only a few bands that I have every album they ever released. Have you heard "Fountain Of Youth"? It's the latest album, which is supposedly the usual "The Rippingtons Featuring Russ Freeman" lineup, but it's not. It's just Russ Freeman. Jeff Winbush of allaboutjazz.com put it best...
"You can't get much more Rippingtons featuring Russ Freeman than a Rippingtons featuring Russ Freeman album featuring only Russ Freeman. It's a Russ Freeman solo album brilliantly disguised as a Rippingtons featuring Russ Freeman album.".
He plays every instrument on every track, and if this one is like other Ripps albums, he probably produced and recorded it himself as well.

Oooooo yes, I really like how almost every song on that album (or maybe I am thinking about "Built to Last"), it starts off very mellow, almost like "am I listening to the same album?" but then a very awesome transition happens from mellow to upbeat. My favorite track on that album so far is "North Shore".

Then there is Hiroshima (I don't think I spelled that right) and Acoustic Alchemy.
And I usually listen to Metal and Drum'n'Bass, but what I hear on the XM Radio and the in-game radio streams, putting it lightly, is not so great, I can think of a lot more older songs that sound a lot better.

Heh, The Rippingtons play on SmoothJazz.com, alright, super nice.
Might play elsewhere not sure yet.
