Euro Truck Simulator 2 Errors (Time Format)

#1 Post by William Grimsley » 12 May 2013 19:43

Hi there,

For some reason, when I open up ETS2 and come to the profile screen, my units are in km and not mi! Why is this?

Also, my time format is a bit wrong, too! (Not so bad in this case) Instead of showing 09:00 it shows 9:00 which is statistically not correct. My PC time shows it as 09:00, so why not the game?

Thanks,

William

Well, he got this advice:
I think, if you feel strongly about this, you may wish to post it in the "Features Wishlists and Suggestions" thread.

I'm not sure how big an issue this is, given that you are the first person to mention it and nobody seems too fussed about it.

It's not something that stops the game from doing what it is meant to do: simulate a truck driving experience.
I agree with the last part of it by the way.

My reply assumed that the title of this forum should be self-explanatory. i.e. The "Feature wishlists and suggestions" forum is not a forum for asking questions, but rather, to post one's wishlists and suggestions (funny, that).

If this detail was missed, then I apologize and I shall try to be more articulate in future.

So, doesn't look like anything's happening? Plus, I've just noticed the time format is correctly used on Linux PC's! Why Linux and not Windows? Windows is not as rare as Linux!

Well, everybody has their own priorities... but honestly, do you really consider a missing leading 0 to be an absolute showstopper?

Yes, it's probably one character in the source code, but I doubt that SCS will release version 1.3.2 just for the sake of re-formatting the time display and making you happy. Maybe they have already fixed it - actually, it's even quite probable, since the Linux version (which is sort of a v1.3.1+) already does it correctly.

So just wait for the new patch. Maybe write a friendly mail to SCS support (but please, don't call it an error. It's a glitch, at most). Nobody here can do anything about this anyway - or what did you expect when you say that "it doesn't look like anything's happening"?

When set for 12/Hr time, leading zeros aren't frequently used since the AM or PM suffix provides the context. In fact, even in Windows the time displayed in the lower right corner currently reads "4:07 PM"...

The next release will probably be a v1.4.0 or a 1.5.0.
