#1 Post by trick » 04 Sep 2020 12:29

Hello
how can i transfer the ets2 folder in windows where the save file is stored, to a Linux installation?
or do i have to rely solely on the steam inbuilt cloud saves?

@trick Well, just copy your files from C:\Users\user\Documents\Euro Truck Simulator 2 (in Windows) to /home/user/.local/share/Euro Truck Simulator 2 (in Linux).

the formatting of the disk doesnt matter, a text file is a text file

also GPT and MBR isnt a formatting, this is a type of list that tells the OS what partition is in what sector of your HDD/SSD and can be used both by Windows and Linux

If you only want your profile saves, you should move your "profiles" folder. If you want to move mods, music, etc., you should move your whole ETS2 document folder.
(In my case, I can access the Windows file system from Linux in read-only mode; but Windows can't even access the Linux files.)
