Steering sudden oversteer
Steering sudden oversteer
My steering was fine and smooth all the way to full lock but since update to 1.3.1 and 1.4.1 it turns about 90 degrees then suddenly shoots to full lock without me turning it fully annoying as hell as turning sharp corners or roundabouts and the truck suddenly launches in to a wall etc with out me turning that far. any help would be good as its becoming a nightmare. also turned all mods off and also started again and still does it, I use a Logitech Force GT if it helps

Recheck your configuration settings. I've noticed that even though set in the UI properly, they don't always get saved to file properly...
I've finally quit using the config UI since it's far, far easier to copy/paste a known, working config.cfg, controlls.sii, and the various gearbox_xxx.sii files from one Profile to a new Profile.
I get the best results with the non-linearity slider fully to the right myself...

I don't know if this helps, but this is how I have my Logitech Driving Force GT set up and I don't have any problems with the steering shooting off one way or another.

check you keyboard (!) settings.UKDemon wrote:My steering was fine and smooth all the way to full lock but since update to 1.3.1 and 1.4.1 it turns about 90 degrees then suddenly shoots to full lock without me turning it fully annoying as hell as turning sharp corners or roundabouts and the truck suddenly launches in to a wall etc with out me turning that far. any help would be good as its becoming a nightmare. also turned all mods off and also started again and still does it, I use a Logitech Force GT if it helps
you have probably set keyboard steering to digital input from you wheel. if you turn enough (50% or so) this digital signal tells the game to do full turn.
if this is the case, unbind this input and the game should work.
Nobody can tell you anything about it. Those who know about it aren't allowed to talk. And those who talk know nothing.
Re: Steering sudden oversteer
I have made the video showcasing the issue, where the steering axis may be mistakenly bound to digital controls.
When configuring the steering wheel for the first time in ETS2 using built-in input wizard, the game will not bind analog controls to keybinds, otherwise a lot of users would complain about such major oversight.

Re: Steering sudden oversteer
So you just unbind the keybinds and it works?
