Re: Dortmund bus stop
If there is a sleeping spot it should at least be marked clearly on the ground and not be somewhere in the middle of nothing. I'd never guess that parking would be allowed in such tight place where busses have to manouver at all. I was actually really surprised to see the bed icon on bus stops at all though bus drivers need some sleep occasionally too.
Re: Dortmund bus stop
Yes I just sleep in the parking lots of Dealerships/Repair shops. Those spots ALWAYS work and there is one in EVERY city.BHS wrote:So we're back to the same spot I showed in Bratislava bus stop last night. Where you have 'to think outside the box' in order to find the sleeping spot

Well, I generally sleep in the hotel, after dropping off my load in a convenient depot. There's almost always room...

Re: Dortmund bus stop
I try to time my loads as best I can to have them finished before I need to sleep. So my regular MO is to drop off my load, drive to the Dealership/Repair Shop, do my maintenance, then take my "nap" But I have dropped and parked my trailers there as well if I had to take a nap. I have never actually used the Hotels. I must try that sometime. I figure I have a sleeper cab why would I need a hotel I have a bed in the back.n4gix wrote:Well, I generally sleep in the hotel, after dropping off my load in a convenient depot. Re: Dortmund bus stop
Um, perhaps a nice hot shower or a soak in the hotel's hot tub, not to mention a change of clothes. Of course, if you don't have a co-driver and only eat bag lunches and dinners, you don't have to worry about offending anyone else with your over-ripe dried sweat...

Re: Dortmund bus stop
Hi.
Got caught out by this recently - cost me £240 in sleeping fines and I bashed a C-Class moving out into the road. Gave up and dropped the trailer and went over to the other rest stop in town. Since finding this thread (!) have since chosen jobs to get me back in the area (Brno to Osnabruck then Dort back over west towards UK) so I could try the stop properly !
