Missing mirror reflections [Intentional]

#1 Post by Kaidan » 16 Jul 2013 23:12

in some cases the entire back end of the tractor unit is missing the reflection in the interior mirrors in others only the back wheels are missing

Perfect example of this is the DAF XF.

Some effects, textures and models are missing for memory saving.
I don't know english good. Sometimes I use Google Translator.

It's one of the reasons why ETS2 now works faster. :D

It was reported earlier, but in new build it is further.
In AI trucks, drivers seat behind the steering wheel, but in mirrors (in our truck or those from F2) they didn't appear.

Drivers have never been reflected in mirrors.

This is intended behavior. It has already been discussed several times.

These are all effects of engine limitations or FPS saving by the devs.

While that's great and everything ETS2 is a sim and is supposed to be true to life you know? (or as close as) and i personally would like the option to have those textures and things back as when im playing the game it would be nice to be able to look in the side mirrors and not see the truck floating along on a black shadow like some sort of truck out of star wars or something lolz :P

((just my personal views))

The problem is that after the lag becomes unbearable. It 'better to have this kind of problem that can not play at all because there is too much lag. Also, I do not even pay much attention if there are drivers or not. :D

It may be that later, this problem will be resolved, but you have to see what the developers think they do.

Also, remember this:

Please, post screenshots, to make it clear what you are talking about. There are similar bugs, like the one with the shadows not rendered in the mirrors.

Also, as an advice for everybody, before posting a bug report test everything with an un-modded profile (that was never used with mods).
Since the 1.4.1 patch, the geometry of the models and rendering algorithms have been drastically improved/changed and a profile with an old mod, might be affected, especially when it comes to rendering models! This might happen even if you remove the mod, sometimes, if some parameters remain, from the old format.
